The FOX brand also started out very small. Physics student Geoff Fox once ran a small shop called Moto-X Fox, which sold spare parts and accessories for motocross. To promote the quality and function of his products, G. Fox decided to start his own motocross racing team just three years after the company was founded. During the 1977 race, it wasn't just the athletic performance, but especially the crazy outfits worn by the pro athletes that were a major topic of conversation among other athletes and fans of the scene. Shortly after the competition, G. Fox received tons of requests for racing apparel in the style his athletes wore for the race. Due to the high level of interest, Fox decided to change his range and focus on motocross clothing. This decision paid off and helped the label achieve international fame just a few years later, in 1982, when a motocross rider from the FOX team won the world championship.
